«Mediation and Law. Intermediation and Conciliation» is Russia’s first specialist periodical on mediation. The magazine addresses a wide audience, first of all jurists, lawyers, businessmen, politicians, public servants, managers of all levels, social workers, as well as all those frequently experiencing in their everyday activities collisions of interests and being involved in conflict and dispute resolution. All of them need to have a picture of the nature, potential, and prospects of mediation.
The publication mainly desires to:- Create an information space to exchange experiences and opinions concerning mediation and other ADR methods,
- Inform the readership about the basic principles of mediation,
- Prove its advantages in comparison with other dispute resolution methods,
- Promote trust in mediation,
- Contribute to integration of mediation into Russian law
- Support implementation of mediation in Russian society
In the course of preparation activities related to this publication, the magazine’s editorial board made every effort to study foreign practice in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution including mediation. As the result, the readers of our magazine will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the history and development tendencies of this method in Europe, the USA, Asia, Australia etc. Our main goal is, of coarse, creation of preconditions for implementation and promotion of mediation in Russia. Successful achieving of this objective requires creation of a mediation-related information platform. Our magazine is aimed at becoming a uniting information area serving for exchange of opinions and experiences between Russian and foreign specialists, publication of articles and interviews of leading Russian politicians and public life representatives reflecting their considerations on mediation development prospects in Russia, as well as contributions of our foreign colleagues working in different areas from international conflicts and commercial disputes till the juvenile or the family law.
